It’s only a week into 2023! It’s fine to post this a little late. So with that, hello and welcome to another year on this planet! I’m happy we’re all here. 🙂
I come to you live from underneath our TV stand because that’s where my laptop resides during football season. Although using this location is proving to be a pretty effective way of blocking my toddlers from getting to the keyboard. If I sit on the couch with the laptop, well, on my lap, I wouldn’t be safe, and neither would this touchscreen.
I hope you folks indeed had happy holidays and rang in the new year however you saw fit! My family and I traveled for Christmas but got back home just before New Year’s Eve. We’ve got a wedding to go to this month, yet otherwise, 2023 is fairly open, as far as any concrete plans go. However, I’m sure a lot of you can relate when I say that ideas are born, plans are made, and the calendar fills up really quickly, all before you know it!
Before that happens, I just wanted to log on and check in, since it’s already almost been two months since I posted last. I would say it’s one of my new year’s resolutions — again — to update my blog more frequently than that. Instead, I’ll say that the theme I’m trying to go for this year is gratitude: having more of it in my life and expressing it better to those I care for.
I’m grateful to you, dear reader, whoever you happen to be from whatever corner of the world you call home. Thank you for either reading my blog for the first time or coming back once more to read my latest post!
Does that truly mean I’ll post more frequently? Well I hope so! But I didn’t want to get too deep into 2023 without letting you all know how much I appreciate you. I think I would’ve given up on this blog a long time ago had I not seen evidence that this thing is in fact reaching some people. And — gasp! — they might be enjoying it!
Anyway, I leave you for now with this screenshot of my husband sharing a comic about February and my response, plus our friend group’s reactions. It’s okay, everyone, it is actually still January!
