Day 5: Soundtrack from Disney’s Tarzan

Alright, halfway through this challenge, I must throw a movie soundtrack into the mix, and it can’t just be any movie soundtrack. I have to make it an animated movie soundtrack. And while I love How to Train Your Dragon’s score so much, Kevin has used that one for his 7th day, so I can’t very well copy him.

Despite that, I had another choice in mind for my favorite movie soundtrack, and it’s from the animated movie Tarzan. It’s one of many soundtracks that gives me chills and makes me tear up. Yet this score also made me fall head over heels in love with Phil Collins, and he’s now become a huge presence in my music collection due to his work on Tarzan. It’s not at all about “In the Air Tonight” because, I’ll be honest, that’s nowhere close to one of Collins’ best tracks.

“Strangers Like Me,” “You’ll Be In My Heart,” and “Son of Man” are easy choices for not only my favorite songs on the Tarzan soundtrack, but my favorite Phil Collins songs period. As for Collins’ other songs, I absolutely adore “Against All Odds” and “I Can’t Dance.”

However, I can’t forget where it all started. Tarzan is already an amazing movie, and the soundtrack only makes it even more excellent.
