Day Two: All Their Greatest Hits (1991-2001) by Barenaked Ladies

Another greatest hits album, as promised! This album has all of the Barenaked Ladies songs that I enjoy, favorites like “Get In Line,” “Lovers in a Dangerous Time,” “Alternative Girlfriend,” and probably their most famous song, “One Week.”

All Their Greatest Hits (1991-2001) impacted me by introducing me to the genre of soft rock, I suppose, much like 1 introduced me to rock as a whole. The Barenaked Ladies led to similar bands in my collection, such as Oasis. I think this album warmed me up to acoustic songs in general and slow rock songs, while also containing some lively, catchy, fast-spoken songs too (“One Week” has insane and hilarious lyrics).

Although they wrote and sang the theme for The Big Bang Theory, I feel like anyone who wants a true taste of Barenaked Ladies, especially in their glory days, needs to take a listen to All Their Greatest Hits (1991-2001).
